Position Title: Technical Sales Representative – Western Canada

The Western Canada Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for the following: 

  • Provide chemical sales and service to existing client base in designated territory*, including visiting customers in person with supplier representatives.  
    *Territory includes British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba 

  • Explore ongoing and new sales opportunities in your region to fulfill our responsibility to each supplier. 

  • Provide consistent and timely follow up on customer visits to maintain strong professional relationships. 

  • Use sales software to track and organize progress and procedure. 

  • Learning about a variety of different products and their applications to ensure a confident and knowledgeable sales approach.  

  • Maintaining open communication with A.S. Paterson staff on progress updates, knowledge sharing or areas you may require assistance.   

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Self starter with strong work ethic. 

  • Chemistry background considered an asset. 

  • Industry sales and/or distributor environment experience a definite benefit.  

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Time management skills to plan/organize weekly customer outreach and follow up calls. 

  • Ability to listen to customers to fully understand their needs with the confidence to probe for clarity when necessary. 

  • Ability to maintain awareness of quarterly responsibilities for each supplier and prioritize customer outreach accordingly. 

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.  

  • Must be able to integrate customer relationship management (CRM) software into sales routine. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Proficiency in video conferencing software i.e. Zoom, Microsoft Teams.   

  • Valid drivers license. 

Job Type:  

  • Full-time 

  • Permanent 

  • Work from home with some inter-provincial travel required. 


  • $65,000-$90,000+
